About Me
Qianqian Fu has demonstrated exceptional musical talent from an early age. She began learning the electronic organ at the age of three and transitioned to the violin at nine. She studied under distinguished mentors, including Professor Guan Wenhui of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Professor Song Yang of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Professor Xie Nan of the Central Conservatory of Music, among others, and received guidance from renowned violinists and educators both domestically and internationally. In 2017, she was admitted to the Music Performance Program at Xiamen University, where she served as the student concertmaster of the university symphony orchestra. During her time there, she performed in numerous major events, including the original opera Chen Jiageng. In 2020, she was recommended for direct admission to pursue a Master’s degree in Musicology at Renmin University of China, specializing in viola. She later secured admission to the University of North Texas to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Viola Performance, supported by a full teaching assistantship.
Qianqian Fu has excelled academically and professionally, earning multiple prestigious awards during her undergraduate studies, such as the National Scholarship, the inaugural Tang Lixin Scholarship, and the Yan'an Scholarship at Xiamen University. She was also named an Outstanding Graduate. She has achieved remarkable success in various competitions, including the "Outstanding Performance" Award at the Fujian Provincial Violin Exhibition, Third Prize in the International Art Union Youth Competition, and the Gold Award at the National Youth Symphony Competition. She co-founded several chamber ensembles with her peers, organizing and performing in numerous well-received concerts, and won accolades such as Second Prize at the national finals of the "Hummingbird Music Award."
During her graduate studies, Qianqian continued to receive academic scholarships and participated in international academic and cultural exchanges. She joined the symphony orchestra at University College Dublin during an exchange semester and collaborated on an online composition project. She also accompanied her mentor, Professor Qi Yue, to the International Viola Congress in Thailand, serving as a performance docent. Passionate about community engagement, she successfully organized concerts such as Holiday Exclusive: Fuqianqian and Wang Jingyuan and Hearing the Evolution of the String Quartet. Additionally, she earned widespread acclaim for her performance at Shenzhen Concert Hall's Afternoon Tea Music series. Fuqianqian has also been a dedicated violin instructor at international schools, integrating her passion for music into her teaching practices.
